Kate is an experienced leader with over 20 years of experience in risk, consulting, and finance roles in many industries but primarily financial services. She has significant experience working with Executive teams, Boards, and regulators.
Kate has directly transformed businesses through successfully building and activating teams, navigating business integrations and regulatory change, and working with clients and colleagues to plan and deliver complex programs of work. With a background in Big 4 consulting practices and small to multinational financial institutions, Kate has designed, delivered and overseen multiple business enabling initiatives.
Kate is recognised for her ability to interpret and design pragmatic solutions to meet new or complex regulations. Together with the teams she has built, she has successfully delivered high quality outcomes that have met auditors’ and regulators’ expectations across Cloud, Capital, Compliance and Accountability regimes.

Rachel is a risk, governance and business improvement specialist with over 20 years in financial services. Rachel is passionate about making the complex simple and bringing risk management to life as an enabler for decision making, prioritisation and achieving excellent business, customer and regulatory outcomes.
Rachel is experienced in the development, implementation and monitoring of Enterprise and Operational Risk frameworks, embedded through fit-for-purpose policy and process, robust controls, effective operating rhythm, training and change management.
Rachel has proven expertise in Incident and issue management; Risk and control self-assessment; Risk appetite statement and Business continuity management.
Rachel is at her best when she is solving problems - whether it be working with a team to uncover the root cause of an incident, mapping out an end-to-end product risk profile or designing a suite of controls to maintain compliance with a regulatory obligation. She has worked in both first and second line risk and leverage her business experience in sales, credit, customer and operations roles to bring a balanced and commercial view of risk.

Dominque Layt (MBA, GAICD, CMgr FIML, FGIA, CDec, Author) - - - Principal Consultant
With over 35 years of experience in financial services at three ASX top 20 organisations, Dominique’s brings experience in heavily regulated environments including the aged care sector.
Dominique has worked in retail and business banking with across multiple disciplines including strategy, governance, risk management, innovation and customer experience. She has been Chair, Non-Executive Director and Advisor of Not-for-Profit organisations and isa Panel Assessor with the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) for health matters.
She has worked for NAB, Westpac, Suncorp, Home Instead and RACQ, and she joined August Advisory as a principal consultant in 2024.
Dominique is passionate about governance, risk management and customer experience and has an insightful understanding of how they shape commercial success. She loves to generate strategic insights to shape change programs that will improve capability in governance and risk.
Dominique holds a Master of Business Administration (specialising in Human Resource Management), a Certificate in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business Online, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds a Diploma in Project Management, is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and is a Fellow and Chartered Manager of the Institute of Managers and Leaders; a global accreditation under Royal Charter.
When Dominique is not working, she can be found spending time with her daughter and continuing her thirst for learning. After hearing Brene Brown speak about it with passion, Dominique has taken up Pickleball and has become a convert to the craze sweeping the world.

Jen is wonderful example of a collaborator. She has demonstrated experience as a strong business partner and is a strategic thinker, confident in her ability to understand and deliver key business objectives.
With qualifications in Behavioural Science and Policy and Governance, Jen enjoys understanding the relationship between human behaviour and good risk management practices that lead to building a positive risk culture. She has spent over 16 years in the financial services industry primarily in banking and financial planning, and most recently insurance claims management.
Jen specialises in all things risk: designing and facilitating enterprise risk management and governance practices, effective risk partnering, building a positive and proactive risk culture, understanding compliance obligations, instilling effective issue and incident management, continuous improvement of risk frameworks, and ongoing risk maturity uplift.

Vikki is an experience technology, data and business architect within regulated businesses. She has more than 25 years of experience leading teams and delivering services and projects within financial services, government and energy providers. Her more recent experience in financial services organisations has offered her the insights into regulatory requirements, specifically those relating to technology, data, third party, business continuity, information security and cloud related risks.
Vikki is a highly competent analyst who can interpret and speak the language of technology, projects and risk professionals.
Vikki more recently has focussed on interpreting regulatory requirements (such as those in CPS231 Outsourcing and CPS232 Business Continuity) into digitised, repeatable business processes to drive efficiency and consistency in risk identification processes.
Vikki is passionate about getting the right outcome for the teams and businesses she works with, and is able to face any complex situation with a practical, structured and growth mindset.
